My heart hurts…Dwayne “Dog” Chapman–what’s WRONG with you!?

Those of you who know me know that I am a big fan of Dog the Bounty Hunter.  A BIG fan, in fact I have been hoping to get a chance to go to Hawaii for our next vacation in part because I want to see the Chapman’s and Da Kine Bail Bonds…

When Dog was arrested and faced jail in Mexico for the capture and detention of Andrew Luster, I wrote a letter and sent it to every politician I could. I wept for the state of affairs of a world in which a hero can be charged criminally for the heroic action…and what’s more, I felt that he was a powerful force of good for the people of Hawaii–a real life Superhero…and the fact that he was facing jail for a “crime” that was–in the opinon of most–just.

So my heart sank when I heard the news today.  Dog the Bounty Hunter has been suspended in reaction to a tape that was released to the tabloids. The tape is of a conversation between Dog and His son, Tucker–apparently the topic is Tucker’s girlfriend whom Dog does not like. He used the n-word several times in reference to her.

At first I thought it might be some fuzzy tape, some tape that sounded like that could have been what he said if someone told you that was what he said….and then they played it on the radio. They bleeped out the bad words…but clear as a bell, there it was…his voice is so distinct and it’s not as if he tried to deny that he said it…I was crushed.

Is that the type of person he is? The guy I stood up for? The guy I cried for as a modern day superman, taking down bad guys and trying to make them good again…

It gets worse, though…in my opinion. Sure, someone might be able to attempt to explain such offensivness away saying “I was drunk,” or “I was heavily medicated,” or “I was so enraged, I was blinded by fury because she stabbed me in the eye with a hot poker.”

But, it’s not that…it’s what he said IN context. I was googling the scandal and found this article. It quotes the transcript: “I’m not taking a chance…not because she’s black but because we use the word n—er sometimes here,” Chapman is heard telling his son. “I’m not going to take any chance ever in life of losing everything I’ve worked for 30 years because some drunken n—er heard us say n—er and turned us into the Enquirer magazine.”

D you see what I see here people? This can’t be explained away by saying “Oh, I was mad…”

No, he was concerned because he uses the word regularly and doesn’t want her to turn him in….he doesn’t want to stop saying it…SERIOUSLY!?

Really, Dog? Really? Well, what about your own moral Karma…or what if, just imagine…if the person that turns you into the Enquirer is your own son?? That’s apparently what happened. This article states that Tucker was the one who turned him over…”Television bounty hunter Duane “Dog” Chapman’s son taped a private phone conversation in which the reality star used a racial slur repeatedly, then sold it to a tabloid for “a lot of money,” Chapman’s lawyer said Thursday.”

I am disappointed and saddened. In fact, that doesn’t even cover it. I am devastated.

Who knew you were such an ugly angry hateful person, Dog?

This is one ex-fan you can be certain won’t be writing any free the dog letters in the future.

Yay, I was very disappointed. I’m kind of glad that I stopped watching the show awhile back!
