Honestly, sleeping in that bed feels like I am sleeping alone... But to answer your question, a Cal King in square inches is no different than a regular King it just takes four inches from the length and adds it to the width. It's also called a West Coast King... I will probably do what you have suggested. As far as sheets go. I love a bargain anyways ;-) As for extra people...none yet, obviously, but even if we did I don't think they would be able to get in bed with us because in terms of height alone the mattress comes to my navel. Seriously. It's amazing I am even able to get in bed at night. I am contemplating one of those step stools. Yes, ’tis true Issa and I were not blessed with the gift of height. I have a king sized bed and I love it, but you do have to watch for sales and do clearance shopping for bedding. I recommend places like TJMAXX, Marshalls, and Ross' clearance aisles. Of course I think that a queen probably would have been plenty of bed for you and Issa. Josh and I are much bigger people and it is not uncommon for us to wake up with extra people in the bed with us. When it is just us, depending on how we're laying I can reach my arm all the way out and still not reach him. I do wish it were a little bit longer, my feet tend to hang over the edge, but it is a behemoth and must now always be a consideration when we are house hunting.
