Oh, how I deplore naps….

So just a bit about our personal lives….

I am a creature of comfort, while my dear husband is–how shall I say–a glutton for punishment?  To give you an example, walking around today (3:00) in the glorious San Diego summer he was wearing a thick, and I mean thick sweatshirt….and he was sweating!  When I pressed him about the motivation behind the get-up, he told me that it was cold in the morning. It was cold, in the morning, so that is why he was wearing a sweatshirt at 3:00 in the afternoon. Ooohhhkaaayyy…

So, along those same lines…because Issa gets up earlier than I do, he goes to bed earlier than I do.  After I get my nightly chores done, I quietly open the door and tip-toe into the room. The fan is going but the air is still warm. I climb into bed and find that my husband has created a small tropical storm system under the covers with his already high body temp and the heat of the room, with the door closed…and the comfy blanket–It’s awful.

Now, the fact that we don’t have a/c is nowhere near a problem because of the awesome ventilation here with all the doors and windows,  in fact, off our bedroom is a sliding door to the backyard.  With that open we get an amazing breeze that keeps the room cool and with the fan going, who needs a/c?

Well anyways, hubby doesn’t allow me to open this sliding door because he is convinced that the possibility exists–the strong possibility exists–that a mass murder will come in and kill us all while we are sleeping.

Needless to say I toss and turn all night until about 2 or 3 at which point I try to open the door and then get yelled at for exposing us to the danger of murderage and then I move out to the couch…I sleep there until 7 or 8 and then feel spent all day.

So this evening and last, I fell asleep for a couple of hours and I hate it!  I fall into sleep that is soo deep that even when I wake up the sleep just wraps itself around me and pulls me back down.  Tonight (which is actually yesterday given the time) I fell asleep at 6:00 this evening and woke up at 8:30…I walked around like a zombie for an hour and then decided to go grocery shopping…since all we had in the fridge was expired milk and one slice of deli turkey meat…that took me forever and I felt cloudy, couldn’t figure out if two 6oz cans of baked beans at 1.60 were the same as one 18oz can for 3.54….now I am in this half-awake, half-sleep mode…..watching “Cops: Resisting Arrest”…typing in my blog because I can’t sleep and can’t do anything productive….I hear snoring all over the house but me? no such luck…
Although, I have to admit…I do feel entertained watching people getting maced…

Well, sadly I am with Issa on this one… though I wouldn’t yell at you lol… I too will NOT sleep with the windows open for fear of murderage, I also leave the house with the dryer running for fear of fireage!

Also, I just realized that your title said naps… I originally thought it said MAPS (which didn’t make sense, but I tend not to question these things).

Although on the backburner of my mind I too fear muderage, I also feel like if someone is going to bother to break into my home to kill me no sliding door is going to stop them.
