I haven't tried the purple kind, and I can't tell from your picture, what issues does it claim to resolve? I currently use the pink shampoo (for split end repair/prevention) and the yellow conditioner (for volume) and as much as I too was annoyed by the commercials, when the stuff happened to be on sale the day I needed to buy new shampoo etc, well, you know the rest!
