Random Thoughts…

I have a whole bunch of things swimming around in my head so…sorry if this seems to jump around…trust me, it will…

So, I have discovered the real reason why you should really stay on top of keeping your house neat and tidy and organized.  Movers. If you ever have the occasion to have movers, you will really appreciate the hard work you put in week in and week out.  A place for everything and everything in its place means that you will be able to have them swoop in and with little or no direction pack you, and take you away. This was not the case for me.  Now, I have to say, in my defense, that I never REALLY moved in here. I always felt temporary because we knew where we were going shortly after we got here and so there was so much looking ahead…Plus, this place was partially furnished so there was so much trying to keep things like plates and cups and silverware separate…that things were always in two different places…some cups were here while others were there and inevitably, some things got mixed up…I had to pick out the things that are mine from the things that are hers and that was difficult.

I have spent the last two days up ALLL night.  A grand total of 5 hours of sleep in 48+ hours.  Now, I have to say that I made up for some lost sleep today. It’s so hot that it just slows you down.  Well, it’s not really hot–just muggy. So I fell asleep for about 3 hours this afternoon after allw as said and done and was in a fog when I woke up for about 2 hours and then I fell back asleep for about 6 hours…when I fell back, Issa fell asleep with me for about 2 hours and then let me keep sleeping until about midnight when he realized that I wasn’t waking up on my own…he had to wake me because there is still so much work to be done.  Of course, he had to go to bed because he has class.  SOOO, it’s just me again and I am sitting here writing in my blog at 1:00 and it seems to me that the night is young after having been awake for the past two nights all night….

Really, I am just typing here in order to put off the inevitable. I have to get up and start walking around.  I am telling you I have never in my life had more sore feet.  I am not sure if it is a result of walking around in high heels on Wednesday night or walking around on the wood floors barefoot.  I think it might be a bit of both…The balls and the heels of my feet hurt soo bad (do the extra “o”s admit of degree? Doesn’t the word “so” in and of itself mean that it is really bad? Do the extra “o”s really matter all that much?)  Issa was kind enough to rub them for me this afternoon but it just wasn’t adequate. I have tried to put flip flops on in order to pad my walk around the house but I have worn down the rubber in them so badly that they really don’t provide any cushion.  I think there should be some kind of surgery to inject fat into your feet…now that, I am all for. Oh my goodness how BORING is this post?  Sorry.  I am just person deprived. Nobody to talk to.

Anyways, so I was cleaning out the bathroom and throwing out the things we don’t need anymore when I came across a product that I would like to share with you.  They are the Sudacare Shower Soothers.  Now, granted, these are generally speaking for when you are ill…but there is something about a little vanilla vapor to get you breathing deep while you are taking a shower that really helps you unwind.  I googled “shower tablet” and found that Queen Helene makes some aromatherapy shower tablets and I have to say that when I get to San Diego I will be purchasing some of these dissolving tablets of wonderful because, as you may or may not know I am quite the shower person. There is nothing I love more than a good shower.  Sure, baths are fantastic…but they don’t stay hot for long enough and I am impatient so I will get in while the tub is filling up and by the time it has, I am ready to get out again. I do like the fact that you can mix in aromatherapy bubble bath, however, but these tablets combine the best of both worlds.

Oops, I just sneezed all over Issa’s computer. Oh, he will not be happy about that.

Ok, so moving on.  We bought a car!  Woohoo!  It’s a 2004 4Runner, silver, Issa’s dream car…and I have to say that owning this car really makes me feel like a grown up.  Ok, let me get more specific. This car has metal rims on the tires. That makes me feel like a grown up– hahaha…Seriously though, I don’t know why…it’s just that all the cars we have had have all had plastic hubcaps.  This one just seems more substantial.  So, on tuesday we will be taking off driving cross country just shortly after graduation in our new car.  I feel bad putting all those miles on it, but it should be fun.

Just ordered bbq pizza….mmmm….Hey!  It’s dinnertime for me, don’t judge.

Ok, so I was thinking that I should save this for another post but I am beginning to find that there are a whole lot of people here that are not so bad and while I hate to admit it, I think Philly is growing on me a bit here before I go.  Sure, our car was stolen…but meeting people through the selling of things on craigslist.org has really brought me to some kind people.  So, in a nutshell–maybe its not so bad afterall…or maybe its not so bad now that I am leaving.

You see, I met this girl through posting the free section of craigslist.  Like a smart girl, she is furnishing her apartment on items that she find for free or cheap.  I think it’s sooo much fun to do something like that and more than that I found that I really liked talking to her.  So, I think I made a new friend in these final days here and Oh–she’s a Becca!

Ok, well. Enough is enough. I really have to get going. I have just wasted 45 minutes and I have a bbq pizza on the way.  Yes, I realize it is 2 in the morning, sue me!

Omigoodness, I LOVE BBQ pizza! My two-cent comment for today is in reguards to your sore feet. While yes, the pain is probably due to both the heels and the hardwood, the best remedy in general is to wear good comfortable shoes with arch support, like tennies, even when you’re just milling about the house. It can take some getting used to wearing substantial shoes at home if you don’t normally, but it does help.
