Well, I finished most of my midterms. I did very well on my english exam despite failing to answer the final question which I though was extra credit…oooh that burns me. I didn’t do well at all on my Drugs and Human Behavior which is a little stressful but the good news is that the next test is not cumulative, so I have a fresh start to try again. And, I turned in my literature review for my Death and Dying course. Now, I am going to be working on a 10 page paper today and hop eto finish by tomorrow (with a secret hope that I will be able to finish it today but I know that won’t happen).
I am in Delaware now, I came down here Friday night to help Diana dig out of the snow…but what I didn’t count on that snow being ice, and so I had to stay overnight and help remove the solid sheet of ice from the top of the van so that Diana could drive up to JFK to pick up Lily and Grandma…then while she was gone I had to remove the snow and ice from the driveway so that no one slipped and killed themselves. That took about three hours…and since the next door neighbors worked with me for that whole time removing the snow and ice, I had to repay the favor by helping the shovel their sidewalk….
So, now I am sore and tired. I decided to stay here last night as well because it was snowing last night and I was so pooped from doing other things like cleaning the house and running to the store that I didn’t think I wanted to brave the road and try to manage all that was involved in going home. So, I spent the night here again–sans spouse. Issa stayed behind to study for his midterm. In any case, I am just sitting here right now trying to wrap my head around everything that needs to get done for me to be able to leave.
Not to mention that, while I feel drained of all this energy, Issa’s 80-something grandmother, who just came in from an international flight…woke up at 5:00 this morning and started cooking for her grandson-the grandson who isn’t even here. Talk about feeling bad.
Well, I have to try and put myself together because that is the first step to getting going. It’s just so intimidating because this house is absolutely freezing!
Ok, well. I am going to go now. That’s the first step.
